If you haven’t read about it yet, Recall is an AI feature coming to Windows 11 Copilot+ PCs. It’s designed to let you go back in time on your computer by “taking images of your active screen every few seconds” and analyzing them with AI, according to Microsoft’s Recall FAQs.
Screenshotting everything you do and feeding it into an AI model could be a recipe for disaster. If anyone other than you gets access to that Recall data, it could be disastrous.
This is worse than keylogging! Recall isn’t just recording what you type, it’s recording everything you’re doing, with photo evidence, every three seconds…

So, that's why every action now takes ages to complete and I need hours for copying (not even moving) some files from one external drive to another instead of minutes. My computer just has the bare minimum necessities to run Windows 11, but if the system does such tasks in the background โ no wonder!

@cihi1970 @canadianprivacy.ca So…
What you can do to transfer those files faster…
Create a boot Linux USB, bare minimums… boot the machine in Linux, copy as needed…
I almost always have a stick around so I can do that quickly if I have to.

Thanks, I have thought of something like that, indeed. Though, didn't think of a live-stick USB. ๐คฏ๐ค :clippy: ๐
@cihi1970 @canadianprivacy.ca It took me a few times before I did it. Doing it for people you hate being around does expedite the process of coming up with it. ๐
